Online discussion LIGHT AND SOUND AS A DRUG (2025-11-21)

CALL to send papers and your suggestions and experiences until 2025-10-31. We want to connect research, education and creation. We understand the discussion as a collection of ideas.
The current generation of children and young people is, without special attention of society, increasingly dependent on the quantity and intensity of light and sound stimuli. The natural world, especially for children, appears "gray" compared to games and movies in the media. Even if they can still be easily "retuned", it requires effort of parents that they often do not have the strength to do. Disconnection for addicts often acts as an energy drop similar to depressive symptoms. The brain has gotten used to it.
The impact of sound and music can also be used positively in sound and light design as mood-setting. Some creators even work with it intentionally, such as DJ Sister Effect, in connection with research. In pop art, this type of creation has its roots in psychedelic aesthetics. However, it is also used in art academic production.
This phenomenon should be the subject of systematic interdisciplinary research by neuroscientists, psychologists and sociologists. With the increase in the possibilities of creation with AI, the opportunities and risks of impacts are growing.
